EXPERIENCE IS THE KEY TO TAX SAVINGS

  253-638-3063

20 years of experience in auditing, tax, and bookkeeping, literally working with thousands of businesses and individuals, has provided me a rare opportunity to identify and resolve issues in a cost effective manner.  My unique niche is to review prior year's returns and finding large refunds for you whether it had been self prepared, or prepared by a CPA or tax preparer.  It is very gratifying to find ways to save you money & I truly enjoy challenges.  To me, it is like putting pieces of a puzzle together.

                      MISSION STATEMENT

            "Providing high quality and affordable

tax, bookkeeping & business consulting services

in South and East King County,

               to small businesses and individuals,

                 emphasizing full customer service."

It is likely that you may have overpaid taxes in the past.  Everyone likes money back and do not like overpaying taxes.  However, it is surprising that approximately 8 out of 10 returns that I review contain errors or the preparer was just not aggressive enough (CPA, tax preparer or self prepared).  I found that using tax laws to the clients advantage has result in approximately $550,000 of unexpected refunds into my clients' pockets just by amending past tax returns in the past 2.5 years.  People don't come to me suspecting errors in prior returns (only about 1 out of 10 suspected they paid too much).  That is why I give a free review of prior tax returns because I know everyone could use a little helping hand by getting refunds they did not expect but were entitled to. And that is why I go over each line of the tax return with the client so they fully understand and agree with the tax return.

What does "full customer service" mean?

Customer Service means more than just being friendly.  My belief is that good customer service is based on full communication in all matters, going the extra mile, and convenience at affordable rates (and being friendly too)!

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Communication:  Too many times I have witnessed tax preparers who are too busy during tax time to return phone calls.  They make assumptions or just leave off deductions because they can’t take the time to call you.  When the tax return is done, it is handed to you by the receptionist and you don’t talk to your tax preparer until next year.

I certainly understand why CPAs are so busy  beyond the fact that they have so many clients to do in 2.5 months.  In my case I do payroll and business taxes as well as income taxes.  All payroll returns are due the end of January.  Once those are done individuals can be seen.  However corporate returns are due March 15.  So sometimes individuals have to wait until those are filed before theirs can be worked on.  By March 31 we are catching up on the individuals who were initially seen before 3/15 and after 3/15 all at once (all during March 16-March 31 to April 15).

What I do differently:  I will never take on so many clients that I or my assistant cannot return your phone calls or emails.   It might not be immediate but it will be done.  In addition during the feedback session everything that should have been addressed will be sure to be addressed then.  FEEDBACK SESSION:  When your tax return is done, I go over your tax return with you line by line so that you fully understand what you are signing.  Optional services include a tax projection so you can adjust your withholding if you want to put more money in pocket today & provide solutions for the coming year.

Deadlines/Extensions:  Top priority is made for clients with deadlines:  whether it be IRS or Dept. of Revenue audits/notices, payroll, business or payroll taxes.  If extensions are required, I will let you know by April 10 if there is a refund expected or balance due (so you can arrange to have that amount available by April 15).   I know your extended tax returns are important - it is YOUR MONEY you are waiting to get refunded or on the other hand you want to know where you stand if you owe.  Starting mid May I will finish the tax returns on a first in/first out basis.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Going the Extra Mile.  In most cases your tax preparer will do your taxes based on the information you provide them, from your documents, and questions relating to the prior year.  If you have a pretty constant lifestyle, that may be fine.  Part of the solution to tax savings is making sure I have all the pieces & putting those pieces together in the most beneficial way (make sure you have everything you did the prior year).  However, lives change and something you thought was an unimportant detail can make a significant change on your taxes.

What I do differently: A full interview the first time I meet with you.  A series of questions designed to trigger your memory regarding changes during the year.

For example, a person I did taxes for assumed she could not use health insurance for medical because she never did in the past & the CPA also assumed such was the case.  I decided to ask and her medical was high enough to not only get her several thousand dollars refunded but questioning also found out she had qualified for years and those returns were amended.  We can always use a few thousand dollars, can't we?  Particularly when we were entitled to it in the first place?

What I do differently:  FREE review of prior year income tax returns and other business returns because I know there is a very high liklihood prior returns have either missed something or have been done in error. It is my job to advise you if you could do something differently

The little things matter.  For example, I even put postage on the forms to mail in so you don't have to wait in line at the post office.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Convenience and affordability.

Convenience:  I offer some weekend and evening hours. You can pay with credit card if you like. If you are a business, coming to your office is always an option. And I am conveniently located in Kent, off 132nd Ave. I do all returns electronically unless you prefer otherwise.  That includes all quarterly employment and business taxes.

Affordability:  It's not all about money with me.  While myrates are competetive, I often discount very large jobs.  Free reviews of prior years returns have resulted in over $625,000 in unexpected refunds for clients!!!  Oftentimes businesses save so much on their taxes that the savings not only pay for the fee involved but cover accounting fees for an entire year!  See FAQ page.

My rates are roughly $120/hr (and $65/hr for bookkeeping).

Bookkeeping: I charge $65 per hour (for year-round bookkeeping).  Bookkeeping needed with tax return will be at $120/hour.

Income Tax and Consulting:   Average tax returns are typically $250-$350 after discounts have been applied.  Partnership, corporation,  and S corporation tax returns will be prepared for $400 (additional if it is very complex or bookkeeping is needed).  All returns  include free Efile.

Remember, you will receive a $25 new client discount AND you will have your return personally prepared by myself with a feedback session going over your tax return line by line.  I also do a free review of prior year returns

One time items such as setting up chart of accounts, designing internal use reports, setting up payroll for you to enter will be $85 per hour depending on the type of work.

Why is Efile so great?  You will get your refund in one week - no need to pay a tax franchise for an advance loan on your refund.  If you owe money, you can epay.  All you have to do it set up payment for April 15th & you don't have to worry about it.  If you change your mind later, you can cancel the transaction.
